Breathe, You’ve Got This!

We are in unprecedented times. COVID-19 has all of us wondering what the next week may hold. While we are all concerned about our work and health, we are then directed to take a more active role in the education of our children.

Breathe, you’ve got this!

My sister called me today asking for some homeschooling advice. She and her husband are teachers…VERY GOOD TEACHERS. But as she said, “I can teach anyone else’s kids, but teach my own and we end up arguing. Can you give me some hints?”

I was glad to do so. You see, I homeschooled my 3 children for a number of years. My style was to incorporate as much natural learning as possible. I wanted learning to have context and be natural. That is where you likely are today.

Your kids may have some guided lessons but you may wish to supplement the provided education with additional activities to fill your days. I humbly offer advice from one who has been there.
